Things 3 for Windows: no official app
There is no Things 3 for Windows or the web. Remote into a Mac, or keep Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Anytime, and Someday on a Windows app you can start free.

TL;DR: Things 3 does not run on Windows. Things Cloud won’t open your list in a browser. Remote into a Mac if you only need a look. If the PC is part of your day, start free and use Done Bear. You get Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Anytime, and Someday on Windows and the web.
Cultured Code never shipped Things for Windows
There is no official Things 3 app for Windows. Cultured Code’s device list names Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. Windows, Android, Linux, and browsers are unsupported.
Things Cloud syncs those Apple devices. It isn’t a site you can sign into from a PC.
A remote Mac is the only way to keep using Things
A Windows compatibility setting cannot run the Mac app. Screen-sharing or a hosted Mac works for a weekly check. The Mac has to be awake, and you wait on a connection before you can add or finish a task. That gets old if you use the list all day.
Mail to Things can drop a task into Inbox. You still cannot see, sort, or complete the list from Windows.
The five lists you want on a PC
- Inbox: written down, not sorted
- Today: doing today
- Upcoming: starts later
- Anytime: when you have time
- Someday: later on purpose
Those lists are the product. A replacement that makes you rebuild them with filters is a different app.
The same five lists in Done Bear. They are in the Windows app too. Select the image to see it full size.
Done Bear on Windows
Done Bear has a Windows app and a web app. Both use Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Anytime, and Someday. The same account works on macOS, Linux, and iOS. There is no Android app today.
The Windows app keeps a copy of your tasks on the PC. You can add, edit, search, and complete them offline. Changes sync when you reconnect.
Start free. No card. Free up to 250 tasks. Current limits are on the pricing page.
Stay on Things if every device you care about is Apple. Use Todoist if you need Android. Use Microsoft To Do if you want Outlook lists. The longer comparison is on Things 3 alternatives.
Move the list without touching Things
Import from the Mac where Things is installed. Done Bear reads a copy. It doesn’t change or delete anything in Things.
Start free and open the Things importer. Create the account on the Mac, preview the file, then open the same account on Windows.
- On the Mac, copy the Things file named
main.sqliteusing the Finder steps in Done Bear. - Open Settings → Integrations & Import → Import from another app.
- Choose Things 3 and select the file.
- Check the preview, then confirm.
- Open Done Bear on Windows and let the list sync.
Areas, projects, tasks, Today items, Someday items, and scheduled dates come across. Keep Things until you have checked the result on Windows.
From the terminal, preview first with donebear import things --dry-run, then run donebear import things. The Things import guide has the rest.
Run both apps for a week if you want. Keep the one you open on the PC.
