Shortcuts on iPhone
Use Siri and the Shortcuts app with Done Bear, plus three starter recipes for adding a task, showing Today, and capturing to Inbox.
Done Bear appears in the Shortcuts app on iPhone. You can add a task, complete one, hear what is on a list, or open a list, without building a shortcut first.
On iPhone, Settings → Shortcuts has the same overview and a link back here.
The lists you can name are Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Anytime, and Someday. Show Tasks can also read the Logbook. Projects, labels, and custom lists are not in Shortcuts yet.
What you can say to Siri
Once Done Bear is installed, these work without any setup:
- Add a task — “Add a task to Done Bear”, or “Add buy milk to Done Bear”. A new task goes to Today unless you pick another list.
- Complete a task — “Complete a task in Done Bear”. Siri asks which one if it needs to.
- Show a list — “What’s on my Done Bear list” reads Today. You can ask for Inbox or another list instead.
- Open a list — “Open Done Bear” opens the app on that list.
Siri and Shortcuts use the account already signed in on the phone. If nothing happens, open Done Bear once and sign in.
Finding the actions
Open the Shortcuts app, go to Apps, and tap Done Bear. The four actions are Add Task, Complete Task, Show Tasks, and Open List.
Add Task, Complete Task, and Show Tasks run in the background. Open List is the one that brings Done Bear to the front.
Starter recipes
These are step-by-step recipes, not installable shortcut files. On iPhone, tap a link to open the matching section, then follow the steps in Shortcuts.
Add a task
A shortcut that asks for a title and files the task in Inbox, so a capture does not fill Today.
- Open Shortcuts and tap +.
- Add .
