Shortcuts on iPhone
Use Siri and the Shortcuts app with Done Bear, plus three starter recipes for adding a task, showing Today, and capturing to Inbox.
Done Bear appears in the Shortcuts app on iPhone. You can add a task, complete one, hear what is on a list, or open a list, without building a shortcut first.
On iPhone, Settings → Shortcuts has the same overview and a link back here.
The lists you can name are Inbox, Today, Upcoming, Anytime, and Someday. Show Tasks and Find Items can also read the Logbook. Add Task, Find Items, and Edit Items can take a project, and Open Project opens one. Labels and custom lists are not in Shortcuts yet.
What you can say to Siri
Say Done Bear in the request — begin or end with it — or Siri may put the task in Reminders instead.
Once Done Bear is installed, these work without any setup:
- Add a task — “Add a task to Done Bear”, or “Add buy milk to Done Bear”. A new task goes to Today unless you pick another list.
- Schedule a task — “Schedule buy milk in Done Bear”, or “Remind me to buy milk in Done Bear”. Speak a day (“tomorrow”, “Thursday”). That date is when the work starts. Siri does not set a deadline, and it does not move a task to Today or Upcoming by name.
- Complete a task — “Complete a task in Done Bear”, or “Complete buy milk in Done Bear”. Siri asks which one if it needs to.
- Find or change a task — “Find milk in Done Bear”, or “Reschedule a task in Done Bear”. Siri asks which task and when if it needs to.
- Show a list — “What’s on my Done Bear list” reads Today. You can ask for Inbox or another list instead.
- Open a list — “Open Done Bear” opens the app on that list.
Siri and Shortcuts use the account already signed in on the phone. If nothing happens, open Done Bear once and sign in.
Finding the actions
Open the Shortcuts app, go to Apps, and tap Done Bear. The eight actions are Add Task, Complete Task, Show Tasks, Open List, Find Items, Edit Items, Show Items, and Open Project.
Find Items searches a list or project by title and hands the matching tasks to the next action. Edit Items changes the title, notes, when, due date, project, or completion on the tasks it is given. Edit Items asks before changing more than 10 tasks unless is on in .
