It needs OmniFocus set up on an Apple device, a live connection, and a subscription, and it cannot run a Review. Stay if you already pay for it. If the PC is where you work, [start free](/sign-up) on Done Bear's Windows app. ## Omni ships no Windows app [The Omni Group's support page](https://support.omnigroup.com/omnifocus-windows-pc/) says: "OmniFocus does not offer a standalone app for Windows." A [one-time licence](https://www.omnigroup.com/omnifocus/buy/) covers Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. There is no Windows installer to download. What Omni does offer on a PC is OmniFocus for the Web, at web.omnifocus.com. It opens the same database in a browser, and Omni says it works on a Windows or Linux PC for people who also use OmniFocus on an Apple device. ## What OmniFocus for the Web costs and needs Web access depends on how you bought OmniFocus. You need OmniFocus already set up on a Mac, iPad, iPhone or Vision Pro, a v3-format database or newer, a browser with JavaScript on, and a connection. You sign in with an Omni Account. ## What the web version leaves out The [OmniFocus 4 manual](https://support.omnigroup.com/documentation/omnifocus/universal/4.9/en/web/) lists four gaps: - **Review:** there is no Review perspective, so the weekly review waits for a Mac, iPhone or iPad. - **Notifications:** no alerts from the browser tab. - **Repeats:** existing repeats still run, but you cannot change how they repeat. - **Custom properties:** fields added in the native apps are kept, but may not be editable. Custom perspectives open on the web once you have made them in a native app. Settings that sync between devices change only in the native apps, and the web version is out of reach when your connection is. For a GTD system, the Review is the gap to weigh. If the PC is where you spend the workday, OmniFocus for the Web is a way to check the list, not to run it. ## Stay on OmniFocus if the PC is occasional If you already pay for the OmniFocus Subscription, the web version is included. For a work PC you check a few times a day, that is the cheapest answer, and you keep everything you built. Stay too if perspectives or the Review carry your week. And stay if every device you care about is Apple. ## Done Bear on Windows The web version takes two things from an OmniFocus user on a PC: the Review, and the list when the network drops. Done Bear gives back the second. Its [Windows app](/windows) keeps your tasks on the PC, so you can capture, sort, and complete them offline, and the changes sync when you reconnect. The same list opens on Mac, Linux, iPhone, and the [web](/web), which is the fallback on a work PC that blocks installs. It does not give back the first. Done Bear has no Review perspective, so a weekly review means walking your projects, Anytime, and Someday yourself, on Windows or anywhere else. It takes the CSV that OmniFocus exports, and it never touches your OmniFocus database. 1. In OmniFocus on a Mac, choose File, then Export, then CSV. [Start free and open the CSV importer](/sign-up?returnTo=%2Fonboarding%3Fintent%3Dimport%26source%3Dcsv). In Done Bear on the web, open **Settings**, then **Import**, and choose **CSV**. 3. Check the column matches. Done Bear suggests a match for columns named Name, Notes, Project, Tags, Defer Date or Start Date, and Due Date, and you confirm each one. The Flagged column is not imported, because Done Bear tasks have no priority. If the Due time row shows Duration, set it to **Do not import**. 4. Check the preview, then confirm. A project's own row imports twice, once as the project and once as a task. Delete the extra task. 5. Open Done Bear on Windows and let the list sync. Perspectives, review settings, and attachments stay in OmniFocus. Keep a Backup Document as your archive, and keep OmniFocus until you have checked the result on Windows. Keep OmniFocus until the list looks right. ### What should I use instead of OmniFocus on Windows? If the PC is occasional, keep OmniFocus and use the web version.
